PF, UPND have failed to unite the country – Shimunza
By Staff Reporter
Movement for National Transformation (MNT) president Daniel Shimunza says both opposition UPND and the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) have collectively failed to unite the country.
And Shimunza says that his party had participated in National Dialogue Forum (NDF) because he believed that the Church did not have the mandate to formulate the legislative reforms.
Speaking on Lusaka’s Hot FM Radio on the programme; Hot Seat monitored by newsdayzambia.com this morning, Shimunza regretted the turn of events where the two largest political formations in the country were unable to harmonize their differences.
He expressed his profound concerns that the bill might not take effect as intended.
“The problem was that PF and UPND failed to unite the country. So, reconciliation didn’t take place,” said Shimunza.
He says that politicians should always have confidence in running to the church to unite them whenever there were misunderstandings.
Shimunza observed that since 2016 Zambia was polarised by adversarial politics between PF and UPND, which was not inspiring the people.
