Lusaka Province minister Lusambo sued over K147,800 debt

ZIGER Trading Limited has sued Lusaka Province minister Bowman Lusambo in the High Court claiming an order for immediate payment of K147,800 for the supply and printing services rendered to him at his own request and instance.
According to a statement of claim filed in the Lusaka High Court principal registry yesterday, Ziger Trading Limited, a company incorporated in Zambia through its lawyers Nkusuwila Nachalwe Advocates,  stated that on February 22, this year, Lusambo of House No 5, Hybrid Road, Chamba Valley engaged them for purposes of supply and printing of materials at an agreed price of K147,800.
The plaintiffs stated that Lusambo was supposed to pay the money on February 22, 2019 when it fell due.
The plaintiffs however, stated that Lusambo has been engaged on diverse occasions with the view of settling the matter but the minister has not been forth coming.
The plaintiffs stated that they will show at trial that they made several demands to Lusambo by itself and also through lawyers but the  minister has been unyielding to the demands.
Ziger stated further that Lusambo made several undertakings to pay the debt in question but that he has never made good any of his promises to pay.
The plaintiffs stated that due to Lusambo’s holding on to the payment, it had incurred loss and damage.
Ziger explained that the particulars of the loss and damage was that the cost of the material that was supplied to him, which they initially got on credit at K110,000, and hoped to pay after the minister pays for the supply and service provided to him.
The plaintiffs stated that as a consequence of Lusambo’s action, they have suffered damage and loss and now claims an order for immediate payment of K147,800, damages and interest, any other relief the court may deem fit and legal costs.
