2021 PF MPs adoption will be performance based – Mwila.
By Staff Reporter
Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Davis Mwila has warned non performing members of parliament will not be re-adopted for the 2021 general elections.
And Mwila disclosed that President Edgar Lungu has instructed MPs to always visit their constituencies and help sort out the problems faced by their constituents.
Mwila said getting re-adopted was entirely dependant on how well the MPs had served in their respective constituencies.
“I want all MPs who will be seeking re-adoption for 2021 to know that they would only be considered on merit. If they have not performed according to expectations, they would not be re-adopted. I also urged the members of the Patriotic Front to apply themselves fully in mobilising the Party ahead of the 2021 elections,” he said.
Mwila said the PF was still the Party of choice as evidenced by the performance of the Party in the just ended by elections.
The PF secretary general was speaking this morning at the Patriotic Front secretariat where he received hundreds of defectors from the United Party for National Development (UPND).
Meanwhile, a representative of the defectors said they are tired of being members of a party where the President is so uptight and unfriendly.
He said UPND has nothing to offer members and the country at large.
