Police took pictures of my nudity, claims Benos

TSHABU Benos 38, accused of murdering her boyfriend Revees Malambo of 12 years has claimed the police took pictures of her nudity whilst in detention as part of their evidence in court.
Appearing before High Court Getrude Chawatama in her continued defence, Benos, a businesswoman told the court of how the police officer came to record a statement from her when she was still in the state of shock.
In her continued defense, Benos narrated that while in detention at Central Police station some female police officers stripped her naked in full view of the other detainees and took pictures of her in the name of building evidence for the case.
She told the court that her detention at Lusaka central Police station was traumatic as she suffered verbal abuse from unknown people who were allowed access to the cells.
She claimed that the deceased was an abusive man who would force himself on her and insisted to check her private parts when he suspected of any promiscuity. The accused who looked composed narrated the event of scenes.
Benos also complained about the conduct of the defense counsel for willingly skipping sessions when the matters before court were of national interest.
She told the court that she was a tender and loving woman who never even beat her children.
Benos said the stabbing of Malambo happened to fast that she did not realise she had actually hurt him.
