Lungu has failed – HH

United Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema says President Edgar Lungu’s government has failed to deliver to the expectations of the Zambian people.

Addressing a campaign meeting ahead of the July 30, 2019 by-election in Katuba constituency in Chibombo district yesterday  Hichilema said the country’s economy had been run down by the PF leadership while the agriculture sector remained in shambles.

“But we along with the farming communities will find ways and means to fix it. As UPND Government we will prioritize farming by ensuring we fund it adequately. We also stated that for the good of our people, we are committed to the dialogue process led by the Church and this has always been our clear call,” said Hichilema

“ Our people come first and this we shall fight tooth and nail to ensure that their well-being was  fully realized, for we know that together we could  do insurmountable tasks just like we overcame colonialism  during our independence struggle,” he said

Meanwhile, Hichilema has called for respect and love for traditional leaders.

“People will always be at the bottom of our heart, and as such when in government, we will ensure that no political  cadre has more powers than the State including the illegal allocation and grabbing of land from citizens, as PF leaders and cadres are currently doing,” said Hichilema

The UPND president said the people’s vote in Katuba was a stepping stone to the  2021 general election victory and a means to reposition the  nation back to it’s true identity of a united and prosperous country for all its citizens across all artificial barriers.

“The PF leaders led by Mr Edgar Lungu have failed to give hope and vision to our country other than plundering public resources. As UPND, we will work to improve the lives of all our citizens by ensuring they are given necessary tools of empowerment that will generate economic activities for their well-being,” said Hichilema.
