HPCZ praises health personnel for improving the sector

The Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) is elated with Zambian health professionals capacity to handle complex operations.
And HPCZ has urged beneficiaries of healthcare services in Zambia to show confidence in local practitioners.
Recently, doctors at the University Teaching Hospital UTH) had a successful removal of heart tumor from a 52-year-old female patient.
In a statement to NewsdayZambia.com this morning, HPCZ head of public relations unity Terry Musonda said the council was pleased to learn that the recent 8-hour open heart surgery, sophisticated in nature in Lusaka without assistance of foreign specialists as the case had been in previous milestone operations.
“ The development was signal that Zambian Health Professionals are eager to bring improvements in the health sector through their knowledge and skill, and it must be highlighted that the more cases are treated within the country the less costly healthcare will be for individuals involved and Government as a whole,” said Musonda.
The Health Professions Council of Zambia has hence called for more investment in the health sector.
