Fired Sports minister Moses Mawere has thanked President Edgar Lungu for the opportunity to serve as cabinet minister.

And Mawere has assured constituents of Chipata Central constituency in Eastern Province that he would work closely with the PF government in order to deliver development.

In an interview with newsdayZambia.com this afternoon Mawere thanked  President Edgar Lungu for trusting him as one of the young  men to serve in his government.

“It was agreat  privallage and honor to have been given that responsibility to work as Minister of sports, youth and child development for this great nation zambia,” said Mawere.

Mawere said he would still remain the member of ruling party and support President Lungu’s government.

” So life goes on, for the people of Chipata Central we are still together, I would continue representing them as their member of Parliament, I’m still part of the team we are a team,” said Mawere

“You know me, coming from the sport fraternity, when the coach substitute you, it doesn’t  mean he doesn’t like you. Sometimes he could do it for technical reasons,” he said

Meanwhile, Mawere congratulated his successor Emmanuel Mulenga and would soon meet with him and do some handover notes.

“We would continue sharing notes together, we are coming from same team like I have said,” he explained.

President Lungu on Friday revoked the appointment of Mawere as Sports minister and replaced him with Mulenga.
