Copperbelt SP welcome delimitation of 4 constituencies in Chingola

OPPOSITION Socialist Party on the Copperbelt has welcomed the proposed delimitation of four constituencies and two new wards in Chingola district.

In a statement to newsdayzambia.com Copperbelt spokesperson Joseph Kangwa said the addition of two more constituencies will help to enhance development in the township.

Kangwa said the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation to the district would increase.

“Nevertheless, I still feel that the best approach was to add more Wards and increase the amount of CDF allocation than the addition of more constituencies which will result in the increment of the national budget because the amount allocated to the MPs will increase. During the just ended Delimitation exercise which was conducted by the ECZ from 13th to 16th of July, 2019, the participants proposed to double the constituencies from the two existing constituencies,” said Kangwa.

He appealed to government to increase CDF allocation to constituencies in order to enhance development.
