Students celebrate Luo’s transfer, as Mushimba prioritises CBU reopening

University  of Zambia  students  have celebrated  the transfer  of Prof. Nkandu Luo from higher education to the ministry  of fisheries  and livestock.

And new higher education minister Brian Mushimba says reopening the Copperbelt University, which has been closed for over three months will be his priority.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the students were seen rejoicing at the great east road main campus while singing .

The students wished that  if Luo had replied  to the letter of apology  by the  students at the Copperbelt University, the celebrations  would not have happened.
Various stakeholders  had made effort to  Prof. Luo to  open the Copperbelt University that has remained  closed for over three months.

Meanwhile, Mushimba  has taken his role with a high tweet  stating that  the reopening  of  of CBU would be his priority.

Mushimba  in his tweet shortly  after the announcement  of cabinet reshuffles said he welcomed the new challenge.

“Extremely humbled and privileged  to have served at MTC the last three years. I welcome  my new challege as i move to higher education. Among many pressing and immediate interventions, reopening  CBU is a priority,” he tweeted.
