Rider, 35 dies after colliding with a cyclist

A 35 year-old rider of Chilanga rural health centre in senior Chief Nkula’s area has died after he collided with a cyclist on Chinsali -Kasama road.
Confirming the development to newsdayZambia.com this morning, Muchinga Police commissioner Joel Njase said rider Charles Silavwe collided with a cyclist around 18:50 hours at Nkula village along Chinsali- kasama road.
” Involved was male Kelvin Musakanya, 26 of Chibesa village of Chinsali district who was cycling a Gent Unix bicycle from south to northern direction,” said Njase.
” The accident happened when the cyclist failed to keep to near side and in the process collided head on with a bushlander motor bike registration number GRZ 63FH which was coming from the opposite direction being ridden by Male Charles silavwe aged 35 years, a nurse at Chilanga health center also of chilanga village, ” said Njase.
Njase disclosed that as a result Silavwe sustained a deep cut on the head and died on the spot.
He said the body of the deceased had been deposited in Chinsali hospital mortuary while Musakanya sustained a cut on the head and he is admitted at hospital.
