Muchinga police record warn and caution statement from Dr M’membe

Police in Muchinga this afternoon recorded a warn and caution statement from Dr Fred M’membe after 7 hours of interrogations at Chinsali police station.
Muchinga province police commissioner Joel Njase said Dr M’membe who is opposition Socialist Party 2021 presidential candidate was warned and cautioned over the offence of being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime contrary to section 71(1)(a)(b)(2)(3) of the forfeiture of Proceeds of crime Act No. 19 of 2010 of the laws of  Zambia.
In a statement to newsdayZambia.com this afternoon Njase said this was in connection with a complaint made on 19/06/19 by Post Newspapers Limited Provisional liquidator, Lewis Musho to the police.
“Investigations would continue on the  subject and we expect continued cooperation so that the issue was concluded in accordance with the law,” said Njase.
And Dr M’membe who arrived at the police station in Chinsali at 08:00 hours was only leaving the premises around 15:10hours.
