Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda has resigned.

In a statement, Chanda tendered his resignation last evening to President Edgar Lungu.

Chanda has thanked President Lungu and the First Lady most profoundly for the opportunity to have served as Presidential Spokesperson for the past four years..

“I have pursued the draft constitution particularly the clause requiring civil servants to vacate office at least two years ahead of election and I would not want to be caught up with this should I aspire for political office,” he said.

He further said that he will remain resolute in supporting President Lungu and the PF government in the pursuit of development.

Chanda is expected to be redeployed to another position.
