{"id":7966,"date":"2019-01-19T18:47:25","date_gmt":"2019-01-19T18:47:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newsdayzambia.com\/?p=7966"},"modified":"2019-01-19T18:48:25","modified_gmt":"2019-01-19T18:48:25","slug":"mpika-nakonde-road-gets-k1-2m-for-rehab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/newsdayzambia.com\/?p=7966","title":{"rendered":"Mpika-Nakonde road gets K1.2m for rehab\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 4.5pt 0in\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;font-family: Palatino;color: #1d2129\">By Staff Reporter<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 4.5pt 0in 4.5pt 0in\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;font-family: Palatino;color: #1d2129\">The Road Development Agency in Muchinga Province has received K1,200,000\u00a0for the spot improvement of some sections of the poor state of the Great North Road from Mpika to Nakonde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 4.5pt 0in\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;font-family: Palatino;color: #1d2129\">In a statement, RDA director, communication and corporate affairs Masuzyo Ndhlovu said the agency had identified some sections of the road at Lukulu crossing between Mpika and Serenje, Vitondo crossing between Chinsali and Isoka and Kapilonga and Ilendela between Isoka and Nakonde, which were critical and needed urgent attention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 4.5pt 0in 4.5pt 0in\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;font-family: Palatino;color: #1d2129\">Ndhlovu said the current works were being executed in collaboration with Zambia National Service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 4.5pt 0in 4.5pt 0in\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;font-family: Palatino;color: #1d2129\">\u201cWorks have already commenced and equipment mobilised at Lukulu and Vitondo which are the worst affected sections. All these interventions are part of the short-term measures being undertaken by the Agency,\u201d said Ndhlovu.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 4.5pt 0in 4.5pt 0in\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" style=\"font-size: 14.0pt;font-family: Palatino;color: #1d2129\">And he said the long-term intervention being executed along the Chinsali-Nakonde road included the moving on site of the two contractors to carry out a full rehabilitation.<br \/>\n\u201cThe contractors are on site and mobilizing at Kapili, 54km from Chinsali towards Isoka and Sansamwenje, 50km from Isoka towards Nakonde and mobilizing equipment on site in readiness to commerce the works after the rainy season,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Staff Reporter\u00a0 The Road Development Agency in Muchinga Province has received K1,200,000\u00a0for the spot improvement of some sections of the poor state of the Great North Road from Mpika to Nakonde.
