The Zambia Council of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) has re-elected Lusaka Catholic Archbishop Telesphore Mpundu as the Council\u2019s President.<\/p>\n
Archbishop Mpundu has been President of the Zambia Episcopal Conference since 2006 until it was transformed into ZCCB last year.<\/p>\n
According to a statement released in Lusaka yesterday by ZCCB communications director Fr. Winfield Kunda, Archbishop Mpundu was re-elected during the Council\u2019s plenary meeting held from November 6 to 11 this year at Kapingila House in Lusaka.<\/p>\n
Chipata diocese Bishop George Lungu has become the new ZCCB Vice President, taking over from Bishop Alick Banda of Ndola diocese.<\/p>\n
Other Bishops elected to the ZCCB executive board include Archbishop Ignatius Chama of Kasama Archdiocese, Bishop Alick Banda of Ndola diocese,\u00a0 Bishop Evans Chinyemba of Mongu diocese, while Bishop Charles Kasonde of Solwezi diocese is the alternative member.<\/p>\n
The ZCCB Conference consists of 11 diocesan Bishops and one auxiliary Bishop who are in charge of all catholic dioceses in Zambia.<\/p>\n
